The protection weighs 7,9 lbs.

From the front, the windscreen offers no more resistance than the human body itself, thanks to its equivalent width and inclination. Up to 12 miles/h, the VELTOP Urban QR1 makes almost no difference to pedaling. Beyond that, the difference is negligible up to 18 miles/h, a speed rarely reached in urban or suburban environments. In side winds, the wind has little effect on the protection, and therefore little impact on the cyclist's stability. The only recommendation is to remove the soft top and lower the windshield in the event of strong winds or storms.

The upper body is completely dry and protected. For the lower body, thighs are fully protected thanks to the air block basket and apron, plus side guards. Deflectors at the front of the basket protect hands from rain and cold. Only feet remain exposed to car spray.

As the windshield is close to the face, visibility remains good even in the presence of water droplets. We do, however, recommend that you regularly clean the windshield with a damp cotton pad soaked in a drop of washing-up liquid, to help the water run off.

With the windscreen in place on the handlebars, fitting the canopy takes just 30 seconds. The same applies to removal. It also takes just 5 seconds to remove the top of the windscreen without disassembling the canopy.
