I highly recommend it with an electric bike. It allowed me to continue taking my bike to work all winter in Brittany. I don't recommend it in heavy storms unless you like extreme sports like kitesurfing 😋 Excellent investment!

This is an expertly design and manufactured product. It is simple to install and use. It performs i's purpose, which is to protect the rider from wind, rain and snow, while being too much for the bike to handle. It does this very well. You need to think about what you are doing when you use this product or you could end up allowing your bike to fall over. Most falls probably won't damage this Velotop product, but it could. The basket that is created when this is installed is a very handy plus to the product.

The perfect solution for using my bicycle in wet weather or even when it's cold, as the torso and upper body are well protected. The only minor drawback is the wind ... in a gust of wind, it's advisable to hold the handlebars firmly ... Nevertheless, with practice and common sense, this product is perfectly suited to its purpose ... And it's amusing to see how many people (often cyclists and foreigners) ask me about this product.

It's a very useful rain protector for both cold and wet weather. It is made of a fairly resistant material that is very easy to assemble.

The Veltop is great. It makes commuting to work in winter and rainy weather much more pleasant, if not possible. The only drawback is that the bike is difficult to park. It's very sensitive to wind and I've already knocked it over several times. That's why it's advisable to tie the bike to something when parking. Apart from that, it's a top product that I can only recommend!!!!

Every day, I pedal from one appointment to the next, and the Veltop has long since become an indispensable accessory for me. Thanks to it, I can keep my dignity (and a dry chest) even in heavy rain. What's more, I don't have to wear an extra layer of clothing, as the wind from the road is effectively evacuated. And there's a small but important side-effect: the music in my ears sounds twice as good without the whistling of the wind.

How much does protection weigh?

The protection weighs 7,9 lbs.

How's the wind resistance with protection?

From the front, the windscreen offers no more resistance than the human body itself, thanks to its equivalent width and inclination. Up to 12 miles/h, the VELTOP Urban QR1 makes almost no difference to pedaling. Beyond that, the difference is negligible up to 18 miles/h, a speed rarely reached in urban or suburban environments. In side winds, the wind has little effect on the protection, and therefore little impact on the cyclist's stability. The only recommendation is to remove the soft top and lower the windshield in the event of strong winds or storms.

How effective is Veltop Urban QR1 protection?

The upper body is completely dry and protected. For the lower body, thighs are fully protected thanks to the air block basket and apron, plus side guards. Deflectors at the front of the basket protect hands from rain and cold. Only feet remain exposed to car spray.

Do I need wipers on the Veltop Urban QR1?

As the windshield is close to the face, visibility remains good even in the presence of water droplets. We do, however, recommend that you regularly clean the windshield with a damp cotton pad soaked in a drop of washing-up liquid, to help the water run off.

Can the new Veltop Urban QR1 be fitted to all bikes?

The protector can be fitted to 95% of city bikes and electric bikes, thanks to its universal attachments for handlebar diameters up to 32mm

How long does it take to fit/remove the Veltop Urban QR1?

With the windscreen in place on the handlebars, fitting the canopy takes just 30 seconds. The same applies to removal. It also takes just 5 seconds to remove the top of the windscreen without disassembling the canopy.
